If you've never been in a real bouldering competition before (like me), but would like to give it a go, consider signing up for this one.

Requirements:
-You've never been in a real competition before.
-You can boulder ~V4-V8.
-You bring some cookies.
-You play fair, follow all gym rules, and happily let the other guy climb when you're turn is up.

We'll limit this to a small group of 6, and take the first 7 (male or female) who sign up here.

There's no fee except the regular gym admission. Just show up at Vertical World Redmond on the Saturday after Thanksgiving at 8 am (opening time), and we'll aim to start by 8:30 am.

Plan:

1) Once everyone is ready, we choose 5 problems.

2) Break up into two groups (a maximum of 4 working a problem at a time). The group composition changes as we go, so everyone directly competes against everyone else.

3) Start bouldering, two groups at a time, each group on one problem.

4) Spend 30 min per problem, taking turns within the group. (A few more minutes added if someone else in the gym joins in.)

5) Cycle to then next group on the next problem.

The winner is the person who completes the most problems. In case of tie, we add another, harder problem to the mix.
(If nobody tops, we go by the person who gets the most bonus holds (e.g., 2 holds before top-out).)

Winner gets the remaining cookies.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
