Description

Sandworm Rock is a small and grainy formation just south of the Anasazi wall. East of Snickers, and past the southeast end of the Little Hunk.

Getting There

Most straightforward way is to approach towards the Little Hunk, and hook right into the corridor between the Little Hunk and Snickers. Walk through the corridor. At the end of the hunk, the Anasazi wall and Sandworm Rock will be visible to the southeast (looker's leftish).

There is a more direct way walking past Life's A Bitch but finding the wall is less obvious.

Sandworm climbs a unique double dike feature on the west face of Sandworm Rock. The dike is split, with a crack in the middle. The interior of the crack is sharp quartz, lending itself more to layback pinching one side of the dike as opposed to jamming. Steep start leads up to a bowl. Step right out of the bowl on big jugs and follow the dike line up and left to the top.Neat feature... but very sharp and very chossy....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
