Description
This is a short climb that involves surmounting a 5' step then walking back a few yards to a 15' flow. It's along a picturesque hike, so if you were planning to do the hike anyway it would be worth stopping for a bit to run up the ice. Walk off on the right side back to the trail.
Location
Start at the Sand Cave Trailhead. Follow the marked trail to Big Sand Cave. Contour back west along the old trail to the bridge.
You can also start near the north end of the park and follow the old Sand Cave Trail (no longer maintained) for about 10 minutes down along the creek till a sharp switchback brings you to a bridge. The ice can be approached from the bridge.
