Description

Easily spotted from both directions south of Greek Creek campground, this is a large (100-150ft.) low-angle buttress of clean dark gneiss split by many cracks uphill on the east side of the highway.

Lots of potential on this cliff, from splitters to solid face routes. Routes generally start low angle and steepen at they get higher. The rock appears to be high-quality gneiss. I spotted a bit of webbing and chalk here and there so it definitely sees sporadic traffic though any routes will need significant cleaning.

Routes stay sunny most of the day due to the southwest aspect.

Heading north from GCC (or south towards it) look uphill at the big dark cliff. About a half mile south of the campground the cliff will be hidden by the hillside again.

Getting There

Park at the turnout just beyond the Sagebrush Point Boulders, or the second pullout heading south from Greek Creek crag. it is identified by a small access/fire road leading up from the pullout (no gate). Walk up this road a tenth to a quarter of a mile and pick the most likely place to start trudging uphill for 200 feet or so. The crag will be obvious. Allow 20 minutes for the approach.
