I'm looking for bigwall partners. I'd prefer someone who lives in the area so we can regularly drive and climb together (I live in Davis). I've been climbing a long time but am pretty new to aid climbing. I've been up WFLT, the RNWFHD and half of SFWC along with a few other assorted aid routes/pitches.
I'm new to aid climbing. That means I'm SLOW. I don't mind aiding with someone that has a lot of experience. But that means you'd better be patient and not expect that I'll be fast. That probably also means I'm going to want to do some "beginner" aid routes. Think WC, Liberty Cap, lurking fear (unless you're offering to lead the hard pitches of something else). For these reasons, I also don't mind a climber with similar aid experience as mine. I'm confident two aid noobs can figure out how to get up a route, it just might take a while. It's worked out so far and has gotten me up the things I have done. But by Noob, I mean someone who at least already has mastered the basics of multi pitch trad climbing and hopefully at least understands the basics of jugging/hauling.
One last preference in a bigwall partner. Males only please. My wife has always been cool with me having female climbing partners. But bigwalling puts partners in very intimate close proximity to each other and it reduces our stress levels to not even worry about that. It may sound silly, but that's the line I have agreed to not cross.
