Rumney Conditions

Another conditions thread.....

Headed climbing tomorrow, Saturday 4-12-14, and hoping to head to rumney. Considering the crows nest, jimmy cliff, and vader walls. Possibly the parking lot wall.

Any reports? closures? things to bear in mind?

It is probably going to be mobbed and as of last weekend the parking was very limited. The small parking lot was unusable, with 6 inches of ice on it and snowbanks blocking. The available space in the main lot was less than usual. I am sure a bunch melted this week, but space will still probably be tight. Please take as few cars as possible and park tightly. Carpool from the library or other public lot if you can. Don't park in the road.

I would think the crags you mentioned would be mostly dry. If you go to the Iron Man wall of the Main Cliff, be very aware of where you hang out. There has been quite a bit of rockfall around there lately. Up on the ledge would probably be better than sprawled out below Rock du Jour and Underdog.

The peregrines were definitely around the Main Cliff, but I haven't heard of any closure yet - soon

My guess is at least 50 dogs to go with all the people tomorrow;)
