About to head south to the RRG for my first visit. We're looking for crags that will get lots of sun and be climbable in cold temps, with routes up to 5.11+ (sport, or 10+ trad)...any recommendations for walls to hit?
If it rains, can we find routes of this grade that will stay dry?
Funk Rock, Sky Bridge, and Wall of Denial are great options, but honestly there are too many to name. Remember if it is raining, the sun won't be out. The preserves have many cliffs like this also. You are essentially looking for anything that faces SE-S-SW in the winter months. The guidebooks are great resources to research sun aspect of cliffs. In the RRG books, the first page tells you everything and gives you an overview of the cliff and which direction it faces.
