| Hey guys, I have a static rope that I've had for 5+ years now. I've only used it a hand full of times and always kept it in a rope bag in my closet. You think it would be safe to use still?? | FLAG |

| If I'm not mistaken, most rope manufacturers talk about a "10 year life" of a rope (up to 5 years on the shelf and 5 years in use). That is if it is well taken care of, inspected, and stored correctly. You're probably just fine, but I would inspect the rope from end to end...looking for any soft / squishy parts, exposed core areas, any places where the core is bulging through the sheath, any nics, cuts, etc. If the rope doesn't have any of those...I'd still use it, but this is coming from a guy who witnessed a group of Boy Scouts using electrical cord to climb in South Carolina (no kidding). I'm assuming that you are using this for top roping. | FLAG |

| Using it for rigging and reppeling. That's crazy. I once pulls a truck over with an extinction cord. Lol. | FLAG |

| I have a big wall coming up and need a haul line. I'd be happy to test it for you. Last time I had to use an extinction cord and got a cord shot. | FLAG |

| Use it. Or send it to me and I'll gladly put it through thorough testing rigors to ensure its ultimate level of safe use. | FLAG |
