Description 

The Rope de Dope Block is a solitary cube approximately 40ft. high that sits at the bottom of the hillside across the river from the main frontside climbing at Smith.

Often used by climbing schools, boy scout groups, and beginners, the Block provides easy access to a handful of fun topropes and easy leads.

A short bouldery scramble on the back side of the block is the best means for getting to the top to set up a top rope.

Getting There 

Take the main trail down from the parking lot, but before crossing the bridge over the river, find the trail leading to the left. Walk a few hundred yards to the block. A convenient trail also leads directly from the camping area to the Rope de Dope block.
