Anyone use this SUPER lightweight hammer drill on rock yet? It is certainly not ideal for putting up sport routes, but for carrying up walls to put in the odd couple of bolts or a couple sets of anchors...it looks promising.

~3LB's; Can drill 3/8" holes in hard concrete with an SDS bit...and can be found for around $100.

I have this drill. Aka the rockwell H3. I've put up like 20+ sport routes with it. It's pretty nice for bolting on lead cuz it's light, but it's pretty slow. And I can only get like 3 bolts per battery. So if you want a cheap drill to replace some bolts or put in some TR anchors it's worth it.

Good to know, that's what I expected. About three 3/8" by 3" holes in granite?

yep 3- 3/8x3. Not much but it beats $500 for a drill and is easier than a hand drill.

I haven't used this specific drill but in using similar, low end, cheap drills I've gotten a dozen holes or so in Indian Creek Wingate. I used to have a cheap 18V Black & Decker, non-hammer drill and I could get as many holes as I needed in a day of putting up routes (about six 1/2" x 5" holes usually).

Thanks Mike. Did you kill it doing that?
