Gociety Presents: Rock Rescue + Beer Tasting (21+ only)
Join us on the Rooftop for a Rock Rescue workshop! We’re bringing in climbing guides to conduct a Rock Rescue workshop. For the first 90 minutes, you will learn: Knots, Hitches, Ropes and Webbing Discussion of different materials Discussion of knots and hitches Practice with all knots and hitches Top Rope Rescue Scenarios Discussion of possible situations Etiquette at the crag Top Rope Rescue technique Top Rope Belay escapes Ascending a rope Counter Balance Rescue demonstration After the seminar, celebrate your newfound knowledge with a half hour beer tasting conducted by Upslope Brewing. Cost: $25 per climber Where: The Rooftop at Gociety HQ (621 Kalamath Street Denver, CO) When: Wednesday June 18, 2014 6:30pm What to bring: Helmet, Harness, belay device, etc – All gear you would have on you during a day at the crag.
