i wanted to buy the original totem cam so I asked if they had the yellow. . The surprised me by saying yes so I said I'll take. I've looked around online and it's always $79. The clerk rang it up and said that will be $94. Crap!

They are always happy to price match. Pull out your phone, find it online, and then ask them to price match it. They are a great store and always willing to help.

Outside of them being a good store with good service, I've found that they're willing to price match each time I've asked.

That's really because local shop owners are all greedy capitalist republicans, unlike the communitarian Internet benefactors.

Have to pay for all that ammo stashed in the back room!

Rock and snow is an amazing shop. Nothing but good things to say and if you can find the price for less, as mentioned above, they will match price. That in conjunction with top brass rewards, cam card and ability to sell used gear at annex make rock and snow unbeatable imo.

I bought the blue and green totem basics from RandS from their online store, 69.95 each. free shipping.

If you want a deal checkout the Rock and snow annex down the street!

Went to the Gunks once recently, and left my Grey Dick at home, so no guidebook. Rock and Snow loaned me one no questions asked....thought that was pretty great!

Rock and Snow has outstanding customer service. I would buy from them whether or not the price is the lowest. The amount of gear R&S has in stock is amazing.

By the way I love these cams and made what seemed like a solid placement in a slightly flaring crack yesterday. mountain gear.com/webstore//Gear/Climbing/Totem-Cam/_/R-237918.htm?voucherCode=979100&id=237918yel_0.8&gclid=CKSH3sGBnccCFY0bgQodU0AB8Q

I'm guessing that $79 is the pre-tax price you saw online. And the $94 that they rang you up for is post tax. So that would make it roughly $87 retail. So really we're talking about an $8 markup, not $15.

+1

In addition to the great customer service and the price matching and the Annex, oh and the cam cards and top brass rewards programs, they also regularly offer free events and slideshows to the community. Well worth it to spend a couple extra bucks to support them.

Oh, and they also offer a price guarantee. So if you made your purchase within the last week you can still go back and they'll give you credit for the price match.

R&S will always price match if you ask. In fact, Rich even came up to the counter with me once without any mention of price and had his staff hunt down the best price they could find. Great shop; I buy everything I can from them.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
