Description Suggest change

A beautiful quartzite boulder located on the left (north) side of Highway 18 when headed down the "back way" from Big Bear Lake. The boulder sports problems on all four sides ranging from V0-V5. The highly-polished, dense rock is of excellent quality, but is also very sharp. Definitely worth a visit during a trip out to the Holcomb Valley Pinnacles.

Getting There Suggest change

If headed east on Highway 18 look for a small, out of place boulder on the right side (south) in a dry lake bed. [THIS IS NOT ROADSIDE BOULDER!] Take the turnout on the right about 150 yards west of this rock. Once in the turnout, Roadside Boulder is the prominent boulder on the left (north-west) side of the road. Follow the faint climbers' trail uphill to the boulder.
