I went there last week and the road is in pretty good condition. You may want to have high Clearence tho, or you might bottom out in a few sections.

A belated thanks guys, as we'll be in a "mid-size" car it sounds like we'll be fine.

A few years ago (during the construction of the present entrance), there were two distinct ways in and one of those ways had two choices on it. The two "wrong" choices were definitely 4 WD territory, while the "right" choice was fine if you had a little ground clearance.

I don't know how things have changed since (maybe the way in is marked now?), but I'd try to get some more precise local information and/or scout out the approaches (carefully, so as not to get stuck!) before heading in there in the early morning on the way to a climb.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
