Riverside quarry fenced off?

Heard about a fence at the quarry, so I drive over to confirm today. There is an 8ft. Chain link fence running down the length of the lot on Sierra ave. does anybody have any other info regarding this? This is some big news, and could be a big hit to SoCal climbing.

I just emailed Louie, and it sound like he has not heard anything to indicate that the fence was erected to prevent climber access, but that it may have been erected to try and prevent vehicles from going onto the lot.
I'm still waiting to hear more.

Edit: changed title, and updated some information.
Edit 2: photo added.

It's about time!!! That place is covered in POOP and spray paint anyway! Only one with No Soul would climb there!! Turds everywhere, gym climbers loving the fresh poop and easy soft grades, no approach so lazy gym climbers can bring their McDonalds to the wall and poop it all out!

Sorry you feel that way. I'm inquiring about this because it is potentially a significant threat to access at one of the most popular crags in the area.

This DOES suck, if it's true.. which it sounds like it is.

The quarry is such a great place to draw climbers from LA/OC and the western parts of the IE... makes it nice to enjoy the other crags in SoCal.

Sorry... Thought it was this guy I know who keeps trolling hard to using silly made up names...see above... So does anyone have any info other than that "a fence exists" ? Like... Any signs? Any gates? Any access? Clearly its a big deal for us ( well... Not "Guthrie bury")

No new signage beyond the "private property" signs that have been up for years. Walking around the fence is possible, over to the left, but there are no gates built into the fence.

Climbing life continues again... All is well.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the recent airlift emergency... or just the dumpers and riders...

Check your knots folks. And your belayers... skills.

Just arrived at the quarry and as we were walking up to the fence, the sherif was ddriving in. We asked him about the fence and he said the fence is to prevent the off road in vehicles from coming in. He said there has been no complaints about climbers as long as you don't park inside the fence. So, it's still open to us, just not the ATV's, etc.

Ha! What group were you? Was there today as well. Easy access.... Walk around fence for sure. Funny that someone already broke a section of fence down.. Also... Once again the base jumpers threathen access. Dude in the white car made it in to park at the base of the crag.... Super considerate. You can hike all the way up to the top, but not across the street?

Yep, fence was there but damaged in the center...I was there this morning walked in without an issue.
