Shauna Gunnels top-roping the 5.10 unprotected cor...

This rock offers one easy route 5.7, one harder route at 5.11, and a good top rope from the anchors 5.10. It is located right by the trail up to Hrum Hroom, off to the right once you gain the saddle. Not only does it provide a quick and easy approach, but it also boasts a good view and great routes for the grade. I highly recommend anyone willing to go there and climb.

Sundogs 5.11d 7a 24 VIII 25 E5 6a  SD : Custer State Park : ... : Riddle
This route was put up on lead, in one day using hooks to place the bolts. I believe it is really well protected, and steep so injury from a fall any where in the 5.11 spot is very unlikely. A fall in the easy spot would be scary, but I doubt that injury would occur. The first five bolts are the meat and offer great movement. Some say that it is hard for the grade but I and others believe it will never be harder than 11 c/d. Have fun, give it all you got, and please for the sake of your own ...[more]   Browse More Classics in SD

Anyone know who bolted and what the name of the "new" line is. It follows up the old 5.10 TR arête and The Joker.

Spotted a new sport route going up the arête. First bolt looked odd, until you thought about the step over to join the arête. Looked 5.10ish to the right of the step over and a 30 foot drop. The arête had good crystals with easy foot and hand. Step over a flake, then to the summit. Summit had an odd conglomeration of bolts for anchors, but someone was very nice and placed two new bolt/anchors. Another sport route was left of this and went up an obvious face. Old pitons under a shelf up and left. Can't find beta on it, but we TR'ed it from the previous climb, felt 5.8-.9 ish. Small feet and fingers.
