It was at the crux on the climb called K2 in the area called, K2. Not sure why you left an entire quickdraw, but I have it now. I thought about putting it back on the bolt when I was done in case you were coming back for it, but forgot. I was going to leave it at the kiosk, but it was dark and I forgot.

Also, I still have a quickdraw I found weeks ago at the main wall. I'm amassing a collection of quickdraws that are not mine and I don't want.

And actually a question for anyone who reads this: When or if you find gear, would you leave it at the crag on a kiosk or something or take it and try to locate the owner online (I've left a note on the kiosk too). Or there is the leave it at the kiosk and put a note online option. I check forums, so I'm biased, but not everyone does. Thoughts?

Sara,

You've read, and participated in, enough "booty threads" to know that opinions greatly vary on this subject.

Maybe you just wanted to start another thread on this subject?

I say, "Let your conscience be your guide." Leave it at the kiosk, post about it online, keep it, whatever you feel is right.

Once I found a pile (no really, a pile--grigri, draws, lockers, etc.) of gear at the base of 5.8 crag at Rumney just before dark with no one else in sight. I took it with me (I was living in VT at the time) and left a note at each of the two kiosks with my contact info. It took two weeks but I eventually got a message from the owner who was thrilled. I figured if I left it, it might end up in less favorable, less honest hands. Two weeks is a long time for that much gear to be sitting on a kiosk so I figure I-dun-good.

I ask myself what I would do if I knew the gear belonged to a friend and then try to do that.

How is Farley these days? It's been a while since I've been. Super crowded?

Hey Sara, any chance one of those quickdraws has yellow nail polish dots on it? shot in the dark but I am missing a few QD's.

I live 10 minutes away.

You can always find places with no people, but parking is the issue.

The parking gets super-crowded on nice spring and fall weekends.

During the week, or on "bad" weekends, not usually a problem. Yesterday, we were the only car in the lot and had the entire (totally dry) sport wall to ourselves.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
