retired rope wanted

I promised to help a friend climb a tree and cut it down in pieces. I'd like a retired/expired climbing rope to setup some bit of protection while way up high sawing away. If you are willing to part with an old rope (free or nominal price up to $20), please pm me. Exposed or broken core is fine -- I'll work around it.
