I'm looking to have my Birks resoled with approach shoe dot rubber this time instead of the standard Birkenstock sole. Does anybody have any recommendations/experience with resolers that could do this?
I had a pair resoled with vibram, at a shoe/tailor down the street in Centennial, CO.
I'm guessing stealth dot sole or other rubbers don't have this issue, but let me tell you that Vibram is heavy as hell, and while it was cool, it changed the characteristics of the sandal and I didn't enjoy wearing them as much.
Any decent 'cobbler' can probably do it if you bring some rubber in or ask them if they can get some.
Yes, the weight will be increased some with dot rubber, so it depends on what you want to use them for. Birk sole material is extremely light, so you will notice a difference even though dot tread isn't too heavy. Benet @ Pro Deal Resoles
