I am a professor in the PT school at Regis University and we are investigating the impact of exercise interventions on movement strategies in people with a recent history of low back pain (LBP). This study has been approved by the Regis University IRB.

We are seeking participants who are:
* between the ages of 18-70 years

* have sought treatment (from any health care provider) within the past 12 months for LBP, but are no longer receiving treatment for the condition OR have had an episode of LBP during the past 12 months severe enough to require > 3 days off work/school or recreation activities

* do not have a serious spinal condition (ie; fracture, unstable spondylolisthesis, severe stenosis) or systemic illness (ie; rheumatoid arthritis, cancer)

* have never had surgery to the spine or hip

* meet some other clinical criteria (can determine this through a short interview if you express interest).

Participants must be able/willing to travel to the biomechanics lab at Regis University (3333 Regis Blvd, Denver - I-70 and Federal) for 3 biomechanical testing sessions (each session lasts 1.5 - 2 hours - 1st 2 sessions are 1-2 weeks apart, final session is following the 6-week exercise program), AND participate in an exercise program (independently at home, weekly meetings with the investigators to monitor/progress the program) for 6 weeks. Participants do not need to modify their existing recreation/exercise routine.

We do offer a small incentive ($10 King Soopers grocery gift card for each testing session completed - total of $30 for completion of the study).

Let me know if you, or someone you know, might be interested! Our goal is to get 8 more participants enrolled this fall. If you do not have LBP, we are also looking for control subjects who have no history of LBP, but prefer to fill our LBP testing schedule first if possible.

Thank you,
