Thought I would post here to see if anyone is interested/qualifies:

I am looking for volunteers for a research study investigating movement strategies between people who have low back pain and people who do not.

The study is taking place at Regis University School of Physical Therapy (Northwest Denver), takes about 2 hours, and involves recording of muscle activation (surface electrodes - similar to an EKG) and movement (markers held on with velcro straps). Participants will receive a $25 gift card to Starbucks or King Soopers as a thank you.

Criteria: Males with low back pain between ages of 18-70, no prior back or hip surgery. Must be able to stand for 30 minutes and transition between standing, sitting and lying down independently.

Control group: Same as above except for no low back pain serious enough to seek treatment (MD, PT, chiropractic, massage), or that resulted in missing work, school, recreation for > 3 days within the past 5 years.

We are matching people with LBP to controls based on gender, age and body mass index. We have had good luck with recruiting females, but are short on male participants at this point.

This study has received approval through the Regis University IRB for human subjects research.

Please contact me if you have any interest, questions or know of anyone who might qualify. Thanks!!!!

Bump

Still need a few people - especially males without low back pain.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
