I just moved to the Henderson area and am looking for climbing partners. I have Thursdays and Fridays off. I'd love to climb those days most weeks. I'm 25, lead 5.8 - 5.9 trad, and 5.10a sport. I have gear. Am looking to climb a bunch and get stronger. message me and let's climb!

Hey! I am coming to LV area the last week in June. I have been told it will be ridiculously hot, but I really want to climb the 28th-30th. I've heard that climbing at Mt. Charleston would be cooler, but I also read that there are some good climbs in red rock that are shady at certain times of day or in shady canyons.

I am only new to leading this summer, but I have been cleaning gear for my old man since I was about 12 and we climb about the same level. I hope you are around that weekend. Could be good. Let me know.

Hey, I'll be working all those days except for friday the 28th. We could climb then. It will be crazy hot, but I'll probably be trying to climb anyway.

Hey Royal,

I will be moving out to Pahrump, NV mid July and would love to have someone to get some climbing in with right away. I'll get in touch with you when the time gets a bit closer. I'm interested in all types of climbing and really want to take on some of the huge trad routes out in Red Rock. I'd also love to check out Charleston when the temps are too hot.

Short notice, but If any of you are around this week, I'm looking for a partner for BVC tomorrow, Weds (Our Father - Wholesome Fullback). Maybe Thurs or Frid is possible too. I have rack and rope. Open to other routes too. Have climbed quite a bit in Black Velvet (and Red Rock)...climbing is great there in the summer!

Royal, I live in Henderson Sept. - May. Shoot me a message then and we'll get out. Similar age - climb a bit harder but if you're into doing more obscure 5.8/5.9 adventure routes I'm happy to swap leads. Otherwise I'll lead anything harder and you can follow if you're fine with that.

Hi guys,
I just moved in LV from Italy where I was 5.10 lead sport. I never climbed on sandstone except some boulders, and never Trad but I am willing to learn. I am out of shape too. So, after this horrible introduction, if anyone would like to go somewhere I can join, even just to carry the rope and gear :)... I miss going out so much!!!
I am free Friday to Tuesday. Mt. Charleston would be good for me too...

I'm still looking for regular climbing partners. I've climbed with several people who were just in the area for awhile or were in the act of moving. I'm psyched to climb through the summer, damn the heat! Right now I'm real interested in Dark Shadows, Sour Mash, and Epinephrine. I can lead up to about 5.10a.

C'on it isn't all that hot out there! If I can get out and TR solo in the shade anyone can climb in the shade. Climb with me, I need my multipitch fix! Don't make me climb solo every week.

Yeah, it totally sucks out there right now. Do NOT visit during the summer, way too hot. Definitely can't get on any classics. Nope. They are all melting it is so hot. Those lines you encounter during the fall...in the summer they are replaced with little devils with pitchforks and flames. If you dare try to set foot on anything off 159, 160, or the loop road you will assuredly melt. Stay up at Charleston...

That is a PSA for the visiting climbers. On the real, it's prime out there in the afternoons...and I'm no accomplished desert rat, I lived in Reno the last 7 years where it's cold. For sure will be getting my fair share of road trippin' in, but no reason to not get out there. I mean, wait, it totally sucks...

Royal, if I had the time I'd get out there with ya but am uber-booked and will for sure holler at you in the event of any availability those days after work. I'm a M-F'er (that's Monday-Friday, get your mind out of the gutter) so availability is predicated upon that.

Weston, thanks for the encouragement buddy. If my schedule changes I'll let you know. Slowly but surely I think I'll find partners. Most of the folks I've talked to are moving here in a few months and I'm sure more people will want to climb once it cools down. I'm always psyched to climb with new folks!

Yeah, Royal, most climbers are uniformed/wusses when it comes to Red Rock in summer. As you have found, a bit of strategery is all that is necessary to climb there in summer. Then you pretty much have the place all to yourself. A friend of mine who moved here in summer remarked that she thought it was the best time to climb, since there were no crowds, and she could always find something good to get on. I have done the TR solo thing too, but would rather have a partner. If you have time early morning during the week, hit me up.

I'm down for some summer climbing but my days off are Tues and Wed. I can meet for a quarter-day from like 9am to 1pm any other day of the week.

OK, I will kinda bite --
I'll be in LV for a conference at the end of July.
Reserved July 30 & 31 as climbing days. I think RR will be a furnace, so Mt. Charlston looks like a better bet. Anyone interested in beley trade? I can sport lead (up to) easy 10s, and second trad in 9s. That leaves not that much as most routes are rated 10 and higher. Infectious seems to be the best option.

I will have a car, and can bring enough stuff for sport and seconding trad.

if interested, let me know.

I think I will happily be in the "uninformed wuss" category. thank you anyway...just done with electrolyte cramping and hot afternoon hikes with loads.

Meanwhile bummed about climbing at Charleston; had really made that my plan for the summer.

Wondering if the fire has baked some of the limestone walls to where the routes are no longer climbable.

Thinking about flying out to Vegas this weekend to climb at RR. Just need to have a partner lined up to pull the trigger. I lead 5.8/9 trad, 10b sport. I'm especially looking to hit up OO again, and CC for the first time, especially if I can find someone who's climbed it before.

Any takers?

Hi,
I'll be in Vegas next week looking to climb some easy-moderate trad.
I'm a new-ish trad climber looking to get out and climb.
I'm not afraid of an early morning starts + heat. I should be available all days (7/29 to 8/3) besides the 7/31.
PM me for info about experience + rack details and phone number.
Thanks!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
