The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council is happy and proud to work hand in hand with Mountain Gear at this year’s Red Rock Rendezvous, March 28-30, 2014!

Mountain Gear has supported the LVCLC in the past, but has been exceptionally generous this year, not only doubling the annual contribution to the LVCLC, but also agreeing to replace the tired and worked rotary hammer used to help replace aging bolts at Red Rocks, also provided by Mountain Gear. They have also offered an event discount to local LVCLC members for both Participant and Festival Attendee. Look for details on the discounts to be released soon!

In addition, and as a show of support for the stewardship goals the LVCLC continues to pursue, Mountain Gear has agreed to make available to their participants human waste disposal bags at the clinics on a need basis. We sincerely appreciate Mountain Gear’s support of our Human Waste Disposal Program.

Like last year, the LVCLC will organize two community service projects during the Red Rock Rendezvous. This year we have a great combination of projects participants can be involved in. Saturday’s includes building fencing with cables around the Black Velvet Canyon climber’s parking area and the other is a clean-up project, likely at Kraft Boulders area or Willow Springs. Each should not take longer than half a day and your support at these projects is greatly appreciated!

Lastly, the LVCLC has agreed to provide eighteen (18) volunteers as trail guides for the morning and afternoon clinics. Trail guides would walk clinic participants in and out of the crags, taking in afternoon participants and then walking out the morning participants. The athletes teaching the clinics will walk in the group in the morning and walk out the group at the end of the day. Trail guides would handle the switch at mid-day, which would take place at noon each of the two days. Walking in and out of the crag should take no longer than an hour. In appreciation of the volunteer’s efforts, they will get complimentary full access to the events, dinners and swag for the weekend. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering by email us at lvclimberscouncil@gmail.com.

Any update on the RRR discount for LVCLC members?

I'd like to take advantage of the discount, if there is one.

Mountain Gear has offered the following discounts to LVCLC members:

LVCLC members will get ½ off both the “Festival Attendee” registration fee (from $49 to $25) and Clinic “Participant” (from $99 to $50).

You can get more information about each and about everything going on in the festival at classic.mountaingear.com/ev…

Also, don't forget you can attend the event for FREE! All you have to do is volunteer as a trail guide for the morning and afternoon clinics. Trail guides would walk clinic participants in and out of the crags, taking in afternoon participants and then walking out the morning participants. The athletes teaching the clinics will walk in the group in the morning and walk out the group at the end of the day. Trail guides would only handle the switch at mid-day, which would take place at noon each of the two days. Walking in and out of the crag should take no longer than an hour. In appreciation of the volunteer’s efforts, they will get complimentary full access to the events, dinners and swag for the weekend.

You must be an LVCLC member to get the discounted pricing. If you are interested the discounted pricing or in volunteering, please email us at lvclimberscouncil@gmail.com.

See you there!

Hey Killis. If you replaced one bolt for every forum post on MP, all climbing areas in the US would be replaced! If you climbed more than you spoke, you'd be climbing above the 5.8 grade chubby. If you were more humble instead of a douche, you'd be accepted in the LV climbing community. Do every one a favor and leave Las Vegas! Xoxo. Hugs and kisses. #Ilovechubbyclimberswhotalktomuchxoxo
