Description 

An area right along the highway that is known for its long slab climbs. Fun area if you can get down with the highway noise. Some of the longer single pitchers on the highway.

Getting There 

Mile 9.9 past the weigh station. Directly across from the gate that blocks access to the railroad on the other side of the highway. The gate isn't so red anymore so don't expect it to be a beacon like it used to be. Turn around and park well off the road in the grass to avoid hassles.

Scotch is the left most climb at the main area.

Scotch 5.9 5c 17 VI 17 HVS 5a AK : Seward Highway : Red Gate
Scotch 15' left of the shrubbery and climb up form the scree on to the arete. Follow the slab to the first bolt 10' up then continue straight up the face on crimpy, positive holds and fun easy moves climb around the right side of a bulge. Then follow the arete to the anchor.
