Recommendations around Estes Park?

I'll have one day to do some single pitch climbing in late August around Estes Park and was wondering where to go (up to 5.8 trad and 5.10 sport). Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

1 day. Single Pitch. 5.8-5.10. Your best option would be Jurassic Park.

If it's open at the time, the routes at the base of Twin Owls (at Lumpy Ridge) are super good, Conan's Gonads (5.9+), Yosemite Crack (5.9) Cackle Crack (5.8) and Rooster's Tail (5.9) are all super bad ass and in the difficulty range you listed

NOT...

Lily Lake,

10 min approach and heaps of single pitch

Lily Lake and Jurassic Park are the same thing. I would second both of those and add the Monastery. Monestary is all sport, and lots of fun moderates like hot Zone and all the stuff on the outer gates. At the base of Twin Owls (Hen and Chickens) Yosemite Crack(pretty short) is a sandbag at the grade but splitter. I would agree that Rooster Tail is "super bad ass". Note: pretty sure there are no anchors on any of them so be prepared to build one, belay second, and walk off.

Hard to spend one day in a place like that! I've got one day at the Gunks this year so I feel your pain.

I also enjoyed combat wall, just down big Thompson from
Estes. The route diagonal is AWESOME!

Combat is cool but Multi pitch. Diagonal is sweet! That was the last climb I did before moving away from Estes.

Anyone else think the Monestary is a pain to get to? Man that seems like a long hike.

I recommend Jurassic Park Lily Lake also for sport. Nice approach, beautiful views, some shade.

Combat rock has full southern exposure all day. Unless it is overcast, it will likely be very hot in late August. If you get lucky, then it would be a nice option.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
