I have some sketchy information on an accident that took place south of Roy Gap, on the route just north of the Chimneys, on the morning of Sunday May 22, 2011(?).
Reports suggest that an older male climber was being escorted down, with an arm and head injury. Evidently he had taken a lead fall with two pieces of protection pulling, and struck the rock in a head-down position. Witnesses said he was unconscious for a short time and disoriented, not knowing who his partner was or who had lead the route.
Two climbers rapped off Climbin Punishment to assist, as his second lowered him.
Aram, i'll talk with Tom Cecil in the morning about it and send you an email, the last accident i heard about was when a belayer lowered a climber off the end of a rope on the southern pillar, causing the climber to fall a ways and injure his arm and one of his legs, i'll let you know what tom says.
