Description

Steep sport climbing area, with the most incredible wall of rock around. This blank wall has some tough projects on it waiting to be sent. There are half a dozen excellent routes here, and the views of Roche Ronde and the Athabasca river are outstanding, making this a pleasant day trip.

Getting There

ROUTE 1 (30 minutes longer but gentler, can be combined with other climbs at hidden valley)

Hike up to hidden valley, and follow directions as for Spiderman Slab area. Continue past spiderman making your way down and right into a broad gully. Follow gully down for 10-15 minutes until a limestone cliff can be seen below you to the left. Work your way down to the bottom of the cliff, you will see the highway below you.

ROUTE 2 (thighburner, but short)
From the parking lot, walk along the highway past the lake. You will see the Rec Beach crag way above you on the right. Work your way up the open slopes hitting the goat trail if you're routefinding is good. 15 minutes to the crag.
