I am considering some aditions and upgrades to my rack that would suit the area. Need advice from the local traddies on some essentials. Presently my rack consist of pretty much tripple to of BD cams starting from 00 to doubles of #4 and a single #5, a set of brassies and offset nutts. I don't have any offset cams, tricams or aliens.

Obviously the PNW has a lot of different styles available, from basalt columns to beautiful squamish granite, but I think your current rack is more than adequate to get you started. You've got all you ever need for squamish which has great pro everywhere. Possibly if you're spending a ton of time doing hard lines at Index some offsets would become handy, pin scars. I do like tricams for alpine climbing because they're light and versatile. There's not that much sort of gunks style horizontal stuff to deal with, I don't see many aliens around. I don't get down to Oregon much, but the best trad I've done there has all been nice corners that protect great with offset nuts and standard cams. Bring your rain coat.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
