	saxfiend · Mar 5, 2010 · Decatur, GA · Joined Nov 2006 · Points: 4,221 North Carolina lost one its bold leaders Thursday with the death of Ralph Fickel of Boone. He was found after apparently falling while ice climbing in Doughton Park. Fickel was known for his many NC first ascents, including Hone Ranger, a forbidding 5.11a/b line at Laurel Knob.
