Description
Quota IGM, or sometimes listed as Punta Quota lies between the main summit of Monte Civetta and Punta Civetta to the immediate North. The 850 meter high NW Wall was first climbed by W. Philipp and D. Flamm in 1957, and their route acclaimed as possibly the finest and most rewarding free climb in the Alps, since there was only 20 meters of aid, or "artificial" climbing involved on the FA! The Philipp-Flamm (UIAA Gr. VI, A2, or entirely free at UIAA Gr.VII) has become a mandatory "Hardman" route in the Eastern Limestone Alps.
