DescriptionThis small boulder is home to the old-school classic Pumping Monzonite (V7), which is among the top 10 boulder problems in Joshua Tree, as well as some newer and harder lines on the trailside face, the best of which are Lockjaw (V9) and Talon (V10). Getting ThereFrom the large parking area at the south side of Cap Rock head east following the loop "nature trail". Take the left fork when the trail splits (you'll pass Collieherb (V1) on your right after several hundred yards) and then continue as the trail passes between some large rock formations. The boulder is a short ways past the turn-off for the Sandy Wash Corridor and quite obvious as the trails passes right beneath the west face of the boulder.
