Primus Multifuel or JetBoil for big wall climbing

I have several (maybe 6-10) Primus Multifuel stoves and I love them for all around backcountry skiing, backpacking, alpines attempts and climbing trips. That said over the years I have contemplated buying a JetBoil due to their popularity amongst like minded people.

My question now is for big wall climbing or other situations requiring hanging the stove. Would purchasing a Primus Suspension Kit (~$20) be a good alternative to buying a JetBoil (~$100) and Jetboil Hanging Kit (~$30)?

Especially looking for people who have used these stoves at hanging bivys so I can get a feel for pros and cons to each configuration.

Thanks,
Will

Can't speak to the Primus, but the Jetboil works well for a hanging bigwall stove. Don't buy the hanging kit. A hose clamp, some tape, and thin cord are cheaper and work much better.

For big wall use, the effeciency and simplicty of the jetboil are hard to beat. No fuel bottle that might leak, less of an open flame when starting. Plus the coffee press doesn't add much in bulk or weight. That said. Is it worth an extra $110? I don't think so. I prefer the versatility of the Primus. Gas is easy to find. In a pinch I've even burned auto fuel. Hope it never comes to Diesel though... ugly. Remember you can't fly with those jet boil canisters, so you'll have to run those down. No problem when flying out to Yosemite but a different story in say Potreo or other international destinations. I've enjoyed my experiences with the Jet Boil, but not enough to throw down $$$ for my own.

I have never been that impressed with the jet boil as such if you already have multiple stoves I would buy the suspension kit for it. Probably get more use out of it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
