Pretty disappointed
|
So...I stopped posting on here a long time ago. Saw this news blurb about this young lady dying in Josh. Looked here for information. Nothing. Seriously? |
|
No one posted about the deadliest accident ever to happen on Everest today either. Maybe MP folks are just into different stuff. I think that we learn a lot by discussing accidents, but it usually turns into a shit show pretty fast anyway. |

Talking about the Everest incident on MountainProject will yield nothing useful. I debated posting it, but just think about the responses. Half would be about "condolences," the other half trolls and people complaining about the current Everest "situation." It's all unproductive blabbering. |

Yeah, the need to get angry is why I stopped getting involved here. I am genuinely surprised by the lack of notice though.Congratulations on that whole polio thing! |

Edit;Adrianne Wadewitz, wikipedia editorI think what you are missing is that you were the first one to know about it. You shouldn't be disappointed. This is a community (of sorts) and we get information by sharing with each other. |

so what happened. couldn't find anything on google... could you be disappointed and informative? |

For fatalities go to Supertopo. For climbing go to this site. |

Seriously, I could not find any details on the woman's death in JTree. |

My URL says mountianproject.com but all I see is...I started coming to MP nearly 4 years ago because RC was going down (or was already down) the drain. Over the past few years, I've noticed the proportion of quality posts on MP decreasing, the number of trolls increasing, and the proportion of people talking about things they have absolutely no idea about also increasing. It's sad, really. |

EXPECTING others to think and act as you do, will often end up a disappointment. It is a "Set up" for failure. |

I too debated posting the everest story but decided not to because of the inevitable downward spiral to arguing about the climbing on Everest. Besides very few mountaineers on this site in relation to sport climbers/boulderers. |
