Possible hard FA at Round Pond, Pway?

About 6-8 weeks ago I was bouldering at Round Pound working Maxim. There was a guy with a beard (can't remember name, seemed like a local) there who pointed out a line left of High Tech Issues as a v10+ project.

It starts on a crimpy right facing flake with tiny, flake feet. First move goes right into a mini-edge of a sidepull, from here it works into the sidepull + pocket for High Tech Issues and finishes for that/Maxim.

My friend sent it yesterday on his second go, I told him it was a possible FA but he didn't believe me. Does anyone know anything about it? It's not in the new Pway guidebook and its not on here. He posted it on his scorecard on 8a.nu as "Gator Pussy 7c+" and if it is an FA that's the name he wants.

IDK the answer to your question, but High Tech Issues is the problem next to Maxim. Gadgetry is on the same boulder as Crimp Face (behind and to your left as you face Maxim).

That isn't the same boulder?

As far as I can tell that video is in an unknown/undocumented area as far as common knowledge of PTuck is concerned, but the OP's line is right in the middle of Round Pond, near/linking through known problems.

Yeah that video didn't help...

Pictures and/or video of the line would be useful. Honestly, I don't really understand the line you're describing. Seems like it's essentially a different start to 'High Tech Issues'? There aren't a lot of holds to the left of 'High Tech Issues' if I remember correctly, so it's hard for me to guess where the start would be. (And since I'm several thousand miles away, I can't go look!)

There is potential for another line on that face but it would be on the far left starting near where a smaller boulder touches the face and this line is more bold than hard. Maybe take some pictures of the line next time you're out there? Without that, it's going to be really hard to say for sure.

Lastly, if you're friend can crush that hard, I can direct you guys towards much better projects/lines than a variation to a variation. :)

I didn't get anything unfortunately. Its a pretty obvious hold in the middle of the face probably directly behind Gadgetry. Any idea if there are any good pictures of Maxim taken more from the right (if looking at the boulder) than whats on the Maxim page? I couldn't make it out in the High Tech Issues picture on here either. Its a right-facing flake that doesn't have much room for your fingers except for 2 crimps. Uses some feet down low on a broken flake to start.

I am definitely interested in the other projects and I am sure he would be as well.

PM me whenever you're interested and I can try to point you and your friends towards some interesting lines.

My sleuthing has suggested that eddysamson's friend is Jake List, in which case those projects are about to get sent.

Haha yeah it was him. I'm sure we won't get another lucky break in the weather until March at least so I will have to hold on getting the location of those other projects for now.
