So, with the recent rain here in Cali, the Poison oak has come out with a vengeance. As I write this I am 4 days into recovery from a pretty bad bout of blisters I got at 'The Bar' near Auburn Ca. Anyway, its undoubtedly all over my bouldering pad and im not sure what to do about it. If anyone has any advice for how to get the Poison Oak Oils off of a bouldering pad I would be SOOO grateful to hear it! Pad is currently in quarantine...

Wipe the surface of the bouldering pad with a heavy liquid laundry detergent (ie. Tide, Gain, etc) or use Technu. This denatures the oils (Urushiol)from the poison oak. Good luck with the blisters/welts.

Any sort of dish washing soap that cuts grease will work. If you have a bottle of dawn in the cabinet use it.

Zanfel will save you a trip to the docs the next time you get a rash too. It's expensive (about $40 for a 1 oz tube), but it works.
