Climb a beautifully featured wall to the right of the fence. Pockets and edges abound, but this steep wall just continues to amp up the pump. Crimpy and sustained as it is, Pocket Plethora is one the easiest routes on this wall. Most of the climbing runs 12a to 12d, so Pocket may be the only good warm up. For the isolation, ease of approach, and number of difficult routes, it is hard to beat a day at La Garita.
Half a dozen draws and a rope.

Hey, if you actually try to follow the guidebook description on how to get to the wall (and finally do make it here without a bushwhack), it appears as though the barb wire fencing is right along the cliff and none of the routes are on public lands.... Can anyone confirm this (like Bob D'Antonio)? Perhaps the next Penitente guidebook should provide an update to this area either deleting it or clarifying the access conditions, since it appears that the area is virtually unclimbed and off limits. this area looked like it was closed as of 2003. no trespassing sign and fence right up to cliff base.
