Please help identify these crampons - looking for anti-balling plates to fit

I picked these crampons up on Craigslist, and now I'm looking for some anti-balling plates to fit. The heal strap says "Black Diamond," but I can't find any markings on the crampons themselves, so I can't guarantee they are in fact BDs. I searched Google images and didn't find anything that looked like a match. Can anyone identify them or advise of any anti-balling plates that might fit?

Thanks,

Mark

They are older BD Sabretooths.

Duct tape

In all honesty, it's doubtful current anti-baut plates fit in your model sabertooths. I think it will be next to impossible to find plates that are a perfect match, assuming those crampons even have mounting holes drilled. You'd likely have to fashion your own.

Chromoly sabertooths. The new plates won't fit. I cut up a bleach container and zip tied the parts to the bottom of mine. Works, is lighter and cheaper. May be more durable than tape.

Thanks for the advice, everybody! Sounds like some combination of milk jugs, duct tape, zip ties, and maybe some bailing wire and chewing gum should do the trick!

Maybe BD folks have some left over stocks in SLC? Milk jugs don't last that long.

Seen anti balling plates made from 2 liter pop bottles with good effect.

Nice flat frame crampon. I have and still use a pair. Sans plates. Not too often I have to pop the snow off them...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
