Description 

Because of the areas significant geological features, the Pinnacles land area is designated a state natural area. Natural areas have special rules so respect and observe all signs, postings, and other users. 75ft limestone cliffs drop sharply down both sides forming a narrow ridge trail that requires great balance while hiking. Steep climbing trails lead up the sides of the rock and a cool stream flows at the formations base. The area is managed by the foundation’s board of directors. Donations are desired. Group reservation are available for youth camping groups. University of Missouri Extension of Boone County, 573-445-9792


Getting There 

Head north from Columbia on Hwy 63 to E Pinnicales Road. Turn right and follow the road east a short distance to the entrance of the park. make a donation at the kiosk and enjoy your day exporing formmation.

Just to be clear, rock climbing is prohibited in this park. Even if it was allowed, it would not be a good idea since the rock is brittle.
