Description Suggest change

This is a great area that contains a stunning amount of rock in a large glaciated valley. You get a beautiful backdrop while climbing on quality, juggy [quartzite]. Some rock quality is impeccable, but there is a fair share of loose holds/rocks. The routes range between 500' to 2000' tall. Pine River is a large area encompassing some beautiful climbs and copious amounts of alpine rock if you do not mind a bit of an approach.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive north out of Bayfield to Vallecito Lake on CR 501. At the north end of the lake, veer right on CR 501 as it contiunues around the backside of the lake. This turns into FR 602-take this until you are at the Pine River Trailhead.
