Picket Post and wagon tracks

Description

A large volcanic outcrop just west of Superior Arizona. While some rock routs and numerous hiking opportunities abound in the area, the key feature is on the north slope. A rotten tower with 2+ routes awaits those who brave the desert heat and cross-country journey to get there.

Getting There

East on HWY 60 from Phoenix metro area. Access to northern slope areas is via a series of roads west of the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Parking to the Arboretum is costly and hiking from the parking lot is not recommended.
