I'm looking to build a portfolio of climbing photos, and I'm interested in finding some climbers to work with in the Salt Lake area. I've been taking photos since I was a little kid, learned on film, and even shot a couple of rolls of slides before digital took over. More recently, I've been doing ski photography at Brighton for the last two seasons, honing my reflexes and learning to shoot people in action. I've been climbing for not as long (about five years), and I'm starting to seriously consider combining these two pursuits.
I have a static line and ascender, so I can get above or to the side of climbing routes for good angles while staying out of the way. I'm most interested in getting out locally (I'm in SLC, so BCC, LCC and Parley's are close by) to practice shooting from a rope, but I will certainly travel farther if it sounds interesting and my schedule permits. Free photos and my appreciation await willing climbers--show your non-climbing friends what you do out there without making them look at your butt!
