So I have a a pair of Petzl Sarken's which I like, but would prefer to have a toe bail on the front instead of the flexible rubber piece that is there currently. I can not however, find any way to buy a toe bail online.. Does anyone have any info? Seems strange that they would make a way to attach a toe bail to the front but not sell them..

Have you tried contacting Petzl directly? In my experience if you contact manufacturers directly about things like this they are more than happy to help get you the parts you need at no charge most of the time.

I think Petzl's customer service dept. was on vacation all last week, but they are definitely back in the office now. They should get back to you soon, I've had nothing but good experiences dealing with them.

HEADS UP, I had the exact same problem, sarkens, front bail replacement. Petzl was rude as #$%@ to me and told me they could do nothing. This was thru several different reps, phone and email. They told me, no they don't offer 'parts' and when I said well you make them, can't you just hook me up, they said no, mfg is overseas, cannot get you bail, etc. I had a spare black diamond bail off my bd sabretooths, they fit perfect. I should have just tried that first.

So long story short, BD does offer parts, order the bails from the sabretooth, just know whether you need large or small. They come standard with small, for leather boots, not doubles. BD hooked me up half price free shipping, think I payed $10-15. Good luck brother, this was a big blow to my image of petzl for me.

I called Petzl and asked if I could buy a new (at the time) set of soft bales that only come on the Lynx crampons. They told me they didn't have any to sell me but would look around. They called me back a day later and said they had a used set from some demo crampons. They sent me the bales overnight no charge. The lady I spoke with was polite, professional, and as sweet as can be.

You've got to be kidding me... the emails, the phone conversations, I even asked for a different rep, because I thought the first one might just be temperamental... and I got nowhere with them.

Contacts through both 'Petzl America' & 'CSS Sport Division Specialists'

Well I'm glad to hear you had such an easy experience, but now I think I'm more fired up wondering why I got the shaft, just one year ago.
