Description Suggest change

Pedra de Urubu is a huge boulder next to the paved path that skirts the base of Pao de Acucar. It has a couple dozen sport climbs on it ranging from 5.11 to 5.14. Most of the climbing is techy and thin, like so much of Brazil’s granite, but really fun. Urubu is in a beautiful location right on the water and is a worthy place to spend a few hours playing around.

You can toprope most of the routes, but need to lead one something to get up there. Bring 7 or 8 quickdraws and runners, and some anchor gear.

Getting There Suggest change

At the 950 meter mark on the paved trail, look right through the bushes and you will see the boulder.
