Private Land-gate closed and locked by nightfall. MORE INFO >>>
Sugarloaf is a privately owned recreation area. The park is closed at night and the gate is locked. Allow enough time to pack, hike, and drive out the oneway road to the gate before it is locked.
This information is a public crowdsourcing effort between the Access Fund,
and Mountain Project. You should confirm closures, restrictions, and/or related dates.

Keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment
|
|
Description Climb the front face of the pillar which is less than vertical. Crux is getting onto the route at the beginning. It is an easy climb is a bit slippery. Lots of good footholds. It's a very good route for beginners to get some confidence and a feel for toproping. You will be just feet off the stone stairs so people going by are close and often stop by to watch and talk.
Location Park in West View lot and go up the stone stairs. This rock will be near the top and right front of you - the stairs turn 90 degrees left at it. The Boy Scout Ledges will be on the left. Step off the stairs to the right and you are there.
Protection Toprope. Good trees above to anchor to. You can walk onto the top of the rock.
