Can the approach be skied now?

I was up there a little less than a week ago - the trees are still down after Jewel Lake, so skiing will be quite a hassle for the last part of the approach.

A friend and I were at Jewel Lake yesterday, intending to go to Black to checkout West Gully. It's still a maze of blowdown with no easy established route through and lots of false trails.

We found an established trail on 12/21, but you had to crawl on your belly under trees in 3 spots. It was snowing and West Gully looked too avalanche prone for our taste so we did the black slabs instead. Here are some pictures:

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
