Hello; My name is Robert Madsen. I'm the one who put up the first routes on the parking lot wall back in the late 60's and 70's.Plus did many exploratory attempts on the other spires. The bolt route to nowhere was one that has been assumed to have been done by Braxton ,I believe, but I labored at that one until the forest service tried to ban climbing on the overhang claiming it might fall!!I have pics. of that climb with my German kronhoffer shoes. I'm from Helena and started climbing in 1966 on the limestone on mount Helena. Blodgett was my place while going to the U in Missoula. A quick drive to a private climbing area almost untouched. I'll get some photos together if I can find them and see if I can give a description on the 3 other routes on the wall. I'm 65 and still climb. I have lived in Seattle since 1983 and have climbed extensiveness in the Cascades ,Tetons, Wind Rivers and Yosemite. Big walls are my favorite however the year after I did the Nose of El Cap with Howard he was killed. I have found that good partners are hard to replace. Still looking. Robert Madsen

Very cool Robert Madsen! Thanks for chiming in, there is a lot of history out there that seems to be pretty forgotten!
