We are from SoCal and will be in Pagosa Springs for a week starting 12-26. I am looking for some climbing in that area during the week that we will be there. Sport or Top Rope would be good 5.10b and below (I have Kids).
Any recommendations?

Wolf Creek reports 94" of new snow over the last week and a half. Good luck finding some place you can get to.

Durango is pretty dry right now and we expect sunshine for the next few days at least. It's a 30 min drive from Pagosa. X-rock is a good place for kids with lots of accessible anchors for top ropes. Enjoy!

Good to know. I will look at the Durango area. Can you recommend a book that I can pick up anywhere that would help with directions and climbs?

Thanks for the info.

if you're looking at durango, the best top rope area is x rock. it's right in town and probably easy to get to. there are a couple sport pitches there as well as a lot of top rope. for a guide, the only one i know is the durango sandstone book, available at all the shops in the area, pine needle, gardenschwartz and back country experience. hope that helps.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
