Packed size of a rope
|
Anyone have an idea of what the packed size if a rope is (ie liters)? Say like a 10mm 70meter. |
|
Maybe 15-20L, that's just a shot in the dark though. |

I would look at a 30-35 liter (1700-1800 cubic in.)if just a generic bag only. |
|
I have put a 60 into the REI 18, not sure i could have shoved another 10m in there or not. |

The metolius rope bag is 1750 cu in |

this could be a good frame of reference |

Correction to previous post. Had to find out for myself. Have to give Jonathan credit for the first correct answer. |

I have a 60m 10.5 Mammut rope that, once compressed via the straps on the Metolius Ropemaster fits into my 22 liter daypack. |

It also depends on how well you pack it. Spending the extra time to coil it efficiently will save on a bit of space. |

Well compressed, I carry my 9.8mm/70m at about 20 liters (It take less than the half of my 50L Pack) |
