In case you had not seen the thread over on ST:

There has been a fatality at ORG. Scott Sederstrom (did not know him) died when a bolt broke while climbing in ORG. It seems as though he was doing some sort of bolt-to-bolt solo climbing by clipping directly into a bolt and using a stick clip to clip the next bolt, perhaps in order to get to the anchors and set up a solo top-rope (speculation). The bolt he was clipped to (5/16" buttonhead) broke and he fell to his death. Just thought the MP community would benefit from hearing about this as a reminder to not trust your life to a single bolt unless necessary and to be vigilantly skeptical about fixed gear, including bolts. This could just as easily happen under normal climbing circumstances. Hopefully a bolt failure under normal climbing circumstances would not be fatal since there would usually be backup/previous protection. But, that is not always possible. Sometimes we really are hanging it all on one bolt, probably more often than we realize. Condolences to Scott's friends and family.

Take care Scott. He was a very talented climber and well rounded. Just had a passion for climbing beyond most people and didn't care about grades. Always had a smile and up for an adventure. You will be deeply missed Scotty.
