Start at the northern (left) edge of the south east (left) face of Rainy Wednesday Tower. Climb up to ledge with tree and continue up face to the left of the crack in the roof. The upper portion is where the rating comes from.

The route "Out of the Woods" actually tackles the face and bulge just right of the route "Birnam Wood" and does not in fact climb Rainy Wednesday Tower. Sven Olaf's and Pete Mayer's 3rd Edition of Climber's Guide to Devil's Lake indicates this route faces south-east.
Routes on the left side of Rainy Wednesday Tower as on is looking up face are south-west facing.
